DIRECTOR’S APPROACH

For this music video with for American Idol Star Danny Gokey we approached this motivational song as an inspiration to fight out of a place that at times you feel you can’t. We utilized a cinematic narrative between a woman moving on from a domestic violence relationship by seeking help and in that process finds herself. She comes out soaring like the phoenix and we use water to match the symbolism of her rising from it, which we showcase her falling in love with surfing and her emerging from the water at the climax of the visual. This of course fused with compelling performances from our star Danny Gokey.
